If you are on ant-depressants or struggling to find a way to feel better about yourself, I have your solution. Become a part of the amazing community that is Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
If you're wrapped up in all your own problems and want a quick and easy way to feel the best you've ever felt, just take a drive over to the Crayon Box and see the magic inside. It immediately untangles you and makes you grateful. Volunteering and donating has a direct impact on these beautiful children and in turn has a direct impact on anyone who becomes involved. There are no side-effects other than becoming addicted to the cause.
I could never have dreamed up a place this special.
The kids aren't going to a drab room to recieve Nuclear Medicine, they are going on a Safari. Instead of going in for an MRI Scan, they are on a trip to Outer Space! They aren't getting a CT Scan, they are on an Ocean Voyage!
They have turned cold steril white-walled rooms with bright lights into a magical crackling campfire in the forrest. Welcome to Camp Cozy. This is their PET Scan. Amazing.
The machine that finds a child's veins has been transformed into the Giraffe on Staff.
They have turned the doctors observation window into an RV on an Adventure! Just unreal.
Last week we got to take an extensive tour of these rooms with the Director of Radiology Kathleen Kapsin and I am thoroughly convinced that if everyone could meet her and take that tour, the money would never stop rolling in. She is just one of the Angels that makes Children's so incredible.
Here is a video of these awesome rooms in the Radiology Department.
Its been an absolute privilege to join the morning show this year for the DVE Rocks Children's Radiothon. I am constantly humbled by the generocity of Pittsburghers. Children's Hospital is one of the most amazing facilities in the entire country, but the people inside are the ones who make it truly special. Call 412 692-8900 to donate or click the DVE ROCKS CHILDREN'S POSTER to make a donation on-line. Thank you guys so much!
