Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith Talks "Smith/Kotzen" Album, Rock Hall, and More

Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen from The Winery Dogs have teamed up for a new album!

The album is titled “Smith/Kotzen” and Adrian called in to chat about it with me last week ahead of the release on 3/26. He said they started working on it pre-pandemic, and both him and Kotzen are extremely happy with the finished product.

Smith said, “I’ve wanted to make an album like this for years, and kinda pay tribute to the bands who inspired me when I was a kid, and use that as a jumping off point.” He added, “People love classic rock…it might have gone underground a little bit now...I just wanted to contribute something to that genre, and Richie is an expert at it…he’s been doing it for years.”

We also talked about Iron Maiden's future plans and their nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021, and fishing!

You can listen to the full interview below on the latest episode of my Rock & Roll Basement podcast.

Make sure you give the new album a listen when you get a chance. Trust me...you will not be disappointed!!
